Annual Members Meeting 2009
The annual members meeting was held Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Steeple View Gallery in Arnaudville, LA. The turnout ws good and the members were enthusiastic. The annual meeting used to be held in the late July to early August time frame. The last couple of years the meeting date has slipped. Next years meeting should return to the late July to early August time frame. The meeting date will be set at the next board meeting and will be posted on this site well before the meeting date. We had 468 members paying dues for the 2008-2009 dues year. We would like to see this number climb to 750 to 1000 members in the next one to two years. We will also be adding more events to be held at the complex. There are many forms of the shooting sports and the club wants to become more active. Any member that wants to propose new ideas for events are encouraged to do so. Any member that would like to help plan and conduct these events is also encouraged to step forward. Our goal is have at least two scheduled events per month at the complex. But we won't stop at two, we will have as many as we have demand and resources to have.
To promote new membership, a "bounty" has been placed on new members. Any existing member that signs up a new member will receive $25 off their next yearly renewal. Make sure the new member puts the name of the existing member on their application so that credit can be given. In other words if you sign up 4 new members, you will get your next renewal for free! If anyone sells more than 4 new memberships (in one year) the extra will be put toward future renewals for them.
The complex is available for "rent" by interested parties. We have received inquiries from parties wanting to conduct classes or training sessions at our complex. There will be a fee for this service payable to the club general fund of $100 per hour with a four hour minimum. The event needs to also be scheduled at least 30 days in advance. Anyone interested should contact the club for details.
Unfortunately, the club has been the "best kept secret" in the past. The efforts we currently have underway and the new ones planned will hopefully let the secret out of the bag and keep it out. Any member with promotional ideas are encouraged to speak up and anyone wishing to help should come forward.
